The new moon, the first lunar phase, is when the Sun and the Moon share the same ecliptic longitude. During this phase, the moon is almost invisible to the naked eye but it can be seen because of the occulting light of stars behind it. In other words, a new moon is when the moon comes in between the Earth and the Sun, resulting in it being overshadowed by the latter. It’s a natural phenomenon that’s observed in every lunar cycle. What else do we need to know about it? Does this phase have any impact on your emotions or feelings? Well, some people believe it does.
1. The Unpredictability Of A New Moon
The new moon comes with great unpredictability that many people seem to sense. That is why they are called ‘monthly silences’ that come with uncertainties and countless possibilities. It happens when the sun and the moon come in conjunction and get so close that it gets difficult to understand where one celestial body ends and another starts. The moon falls under the shadow, which creates a wave of something unknown and/or fresh.
You are a new moon baby if your sun sign and the moon sign are the same. This means that you were born during the first phase, and are curious, childlike, naive, and lack self-awareness.

If you are someone who manifests and sets intentions, then you would want to avoid the new moon time because there isn’t much luminary energy. Moreover, in the first phase of the lunar cycle, there isn’t much to look forward to because it is dark, metaphorically as well as literally.

The New Moon phase is the best time to sit back and relax. It is the perfect time to give your mind and your body a much-needed break from all kinds of work and unnecessary distractions such as social media. Embrace the silence and take it in!
