The most determining factor of your planetary energy is the ruling planet, which dominates over your rising sign. There can also be more than one platery energy dominating your rising sign, which often occurs if you have a stellium on your birth chart.
To find out your planetary type, you can always check your birth chart or have an astrologer chalk one up for you. Another way to go about it is to take a test and assess which is your ruling planet. Yet another approach is to read about all the planetary types and see which one is closer to your personality. You can either fit into a very distinct planetary type, or your traits can be a combination of two or more planets.
